I was born in London to Antiguan parents. Studied journalism and started career in the Black British media before moving to Antigua in the mid-1980s where I began writing and publishing short stories and poetry as well as working in the local media both print and television before moving into Public Relations and working with local, regional and international organisations and companies including the OECS Economic Unit, the Body Shop and British Airways as well as the Government of Antigua and Barbuda.
In the mid-1990s, I returned to the UK and gained an MA in Writing from Sheffield Hallam University whilst working with underachieving students, managing an after-school program for African-Caribbean students and as a workshop facilitator with an anti-racism NGO.
I returned to Antigua in 2003 and established Just Write – Antigua, teaching creative writing workshops and worked with government agencies, adults, young people and on a voluntary basis with inmates at HMP in Antigua.
Career wise moved into sports event management working on local, regional, and global cricket events and Antigua Sailing Week – including working in India. Community projects have included working with regional organisations as a workshop coordinator and facilitator.
My work has appeared in several anthologies in the USA, UK, and Canada as well as online. Her first novella, ‘London Rocks’ was published by Hansib Publications in the UK in 2018.
